PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP)
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP, is one of the most advanced techniques of cell regeneration. This technique is based on the properties that scientists from prestigious universities have discovered. This technique involves the properties of platelets secrete exist within the exposed platelets in the last decades a wonderful substance called Growth Factor (FC) on which is responsible severe cellular changes including the recruitment of Peripheral Stem Cells and the ” waking up” in the infamous cellular reproduction known as Mitosis. Unlike other current medical treatments IT IS NOT A MEDICINE, not synthesized from natural or artificial products , but simply consists of “harvesting” and ” implementing” its own cells responsible for cell regeneration in the right place and in a quantity impossible to achieve in your body with assistance.
These growth factors are recovered and injected directly into the areas of the face, neck, neckline, hands and areas that the patient needs, where there is more sagging and aging.
These growth factors are applied in skin dermis to directly stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, promoting the formation of new tissue, resulting in enhanced smoothness, brightness, elasticity of the treated area.
How do you obtain these growth factors?
It’s simple, from a simple intravenous method, which is specially treated and centrifuged to obtain the Platelet Rich Plasma. It is estimated that each plasma injection with 2 or 3 ml contains 3.31 million platelets and in turn contain a large number of growth factors (FC), which are needed for better cell regeneration.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to be used by massage therapy, in the areas most flaccid such as the face and neck. It stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and epidermal tissue, which results in a youthful, smoother and better skin tone.
When is its application recommended?
This treatment is recommended after age 30, age when the skin begins to lose its power of regeneration and collagen formation or simply when the signs of aging are visible. It can be applied both as a preventive treatment of a younger skin or restorative treatment for aged skin.
How many sessions are needed?
The protocol for Platelet Rich Plasma is specific for each patient depending on the degree of aging and the characteristics of his/her skin.
In general , for someone who is middle-aged, 3 sessions are done in a year separated by 30 – 45 days, and then repeated 1 time per year to continue stimulating the fibroblasts to produce new collagen , this as maintenance sessions to keep the stimulus on top.
When you see the results?
The results are apparent 2 weeks after its application and becomes visible between a month to a month and a half later. It remains stable for many months. The results of the last session administered with Platelet Rich Plasma lasts about a year. A session of reinforcement is required.
Advantages over other treatments:
Compatibility among other disadvantages are discarded because Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is prepared with the patient’s own blood (autologous), thus avoiding the risk of infection or transmission of diseases, and allergic reactions. It also contains in their composition a richness in hemostatic factors, preventing bruising.
Does Platelet Rich Plasma Work?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment approved by the FDA as well as proven effective through clinical studies and tests in various areas of medicine , such as oral and dental surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, healing processes and in ophthalmology. Currently applied in several European countries like Germany, France, Switzerland and England in addition to our continent has been applied in the United States in Canada, Brazil and Argentina.
In Costa Rica Face & Body Care Center is one of the few clinics with the ability and knowledge to implement these services, our clinic has all the requirements and facilities to make you feel comfortable and secure throughout your appointment, procedures and recovery.
