What is Dermapen?
The Dermapen is a micro – needle device that works to tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin. It is an electronic device by the FDA using multiple fine needles vertically to pierce the skin. This procedure remodels collagen and improves skin rejuvenation. Unlike needle rollers, Dermapen’s printing method uses a precisely controlled technique in order to achieve a specific depth in the skin and minimize excess epidermis. Dermapen is effective in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, minimizing stretch marks, scars and acne scarring.
The depth of the needle can be adjusted during the course of the procedure to accommodate the different treatment areas and can easily maneuver around facial contours and delicate areas such as eyes, nose and mouth.
This is a treatment which avoids the usual pain and discomfort of other treatments. Another benefit is it allows better absorption of drugs or substances, such as PRP, hyaluronic acid and peptides in the skin, which improves the results.
How many sessions are necessary to achieve a good outcome?
A series of 3 to 5 treatments is recommended for optimal results.
What is the ideal time lapse between treatments?
Treatments ideally are repeated every 4-6 weeks.
Is Dermapen safe for darker skin types?
Because it does not use lasers or IPL, this treatment is suitable for darker skin types, including others.
Is Dermapen painful?
Dermapen uses very fine needles and is relatively comfortable. A topical anesthetic cream is suggested to minimize discomfort.
How long does each treatment last?
On the one area, each treatment ranges between 30 to 60 minutes.
What are the immediate effects after treatment?
There may be topical redness and a possibility of minimal post-treatment bleeding.
